Doubt
Discouragement
Diversion
Defeat
Delay
The words listed above are five D words that should be deleted from our daily vocabulary. This week, select one of those words and in detail, explain why, in your opinion, it should be deleted. You may include an ancecdote from your life to aid in your analysis.

"Doubt" is one of the words that i think that everyone should delete from there vocabulary. The reason I picked doubt was beacuse sometime I doubt myself thinking that I dont know something but when one of my teachers ask me im suprised I even know the answer. So I think people should delete this word and just have faith in themselves.
"Discouragement" is one of the words I would pick to be deleted from our vocabulary because it is usually used in a sense that you are putting someone down and not helping them in there time of need. So people should give a word of encouragement to someone who needs it the most, in order to make them happy and feel good about what there doing instead of bringing them sadness.

Discouragement is the word that I would delete from our vocabulary. To discourage someone is to hold him back from his dreams. Everyone needs to believe they are able to succeed. Being told you can 't succeed is like being shot in the foot and being told to run a race. People need to feel support from family and friends who encourage them to go for their dreams.

Doubt, Discouragement, Diversion, Defeat and Delay, five negative words that some people use in their everyday vocabulary.
If I had to choose one out of these 5 to delete from my vocabulary it would probably be defeat. I absolutly HATE using this word, especially when our coaches use it after we have lost a game. Defeat is such a negative word and is used a lot in sports. Defeat to me means that you've lost at whatever your doing. For example, when our varsity softball was in states last year, we could have won that game, but we defeated ourselves, we kept telling ourselves we couldnt do it, and we didnt. We worked our butts off all year to get there and only make it to the Final 4 and pretty much give up. American Heritage defeated us, they beat us two years ago in states as well. I've always been told as long as you try your best then your own indidvual can't be defeated, and to never tell yourself you can't do it.

Doubt i believed should be deleted from our daily vocabulary because, no one should think of themselves as being wrong all the time and think that they can never get it right. I think when you doubt yourself about something, you are basically putting yourself down. If you keep telling yourself you cant do it, you basically wont because you dont want to do it, and it means nothing to you. Always believe in youself and never think you can't do anything. Have faith in yourself.

I think that doubt should be deleted from our everyday words. most people cant say doubt correctly anyways. doubt is also a sad word. i dont think anyone should doubt themselfs or anyone else. i dont think that doubt is even spelled correctly and i also think that is why most people say doubt in correctly.
The word DOUBT should, in my opinion should be deleted! Because everyone should have faith in any situation. God gives us faith in times when theres doubt. Also never doubt yourself. Thats a big one! You should also believe in yourself, because if you don't how do you expect anyone else to believe in you? That could also go along with having confidence in yourself, believe and have faith in yourself, but also others! Don't give up!

the word i would chose that i need to delete from my vocabulary is discouragment. I need to delete that word because sometimes i dont think i know as much as i do or i dont try as hard. that leads me to disouragment because when i think that i cant do something i just give up on it.

I think that the word DOUBT should be erased entirely from the english language. Doubt is a word that outs down some other person or even yourself. You should never doubt your self. Doubting yourself leads you to think that you are incapable of doing something that you are more than capable of doing. If some of the most famous inventors doubted themselves they would have never come up with some of the tings that we find nessessay.. THINK ABOUT IT!

I think that the word doubt should be erased from our vocabulary. Doubt is not beleiving in yourself. Everyone needs to have confidence in themselves and get rid of doubt. We all need to think that we are just as capable of doing anything that anyone else can do.
"Discouragement"
I would chose to take discouragement out of our vocabulary. Nobody wants to be discouraged or put down. Everyone needs to encourage one another and build each other up. Whenever we discourage each other it is only tearing us down.
A couple days ago I was having one of the best days I have had in a while. Normally I am kind of faking the super happiness so I don't put others down. This kid came up to me and said one of the worst thing anyone has every said to me, totally made me feel discouraged and it tore me apart. I know it feels like crap, nobody likes that feeling.
So, in my opinion, discouragement should definitly a word that should be out of our vocabulary.

"Discouragement" would be the word I would delete from the vocabulary list. One reason would be, because it is a negative word and it is discouraging. Second reason would be it could cause a negative attitude. Finally, it would cause someone to give up and not try. We all need positive encouragement.

Doubt means to fear or be apprehensive about and though I feel as if all these words effect one another I think the word "doubt" has the greatest impact, therefore in my beliefs should be deleted from our daily vocabulary. When you doubt yourself or others you lack confidence in what you are achieving which causes the rate for failure to highly increase. I believe doubt is only used when someone does not have faith in themselves in which is a problem because you should always believe in success. Failure is not an option.

Doubt shouldn't be deleted because sometimes you have to doubt other people because you either dont know them or you do know them and just dont trust them. the only reason it should be deleted is because you should never doubt yourself.

If I were to choose one of those five "D" words listed above to delete from our every day vocabulary I believe that the word I would choose would have be DEFEAT. The reason that I would delete this particular word is because of its meaning.
Defeat has more than one meaning and all of its meanings are almost the same. But the Specific meaning of the word defeat that really makes dislike it is: "to give up","to stop trying".
To admit DEFEAT is to stop tyring and give up, and to stop trying is both stupid and pointless.

"Doubt" is one of the words that should be deleted from our vocabulary because we should always be positive and if we doubt that things are going to happen then they really won't happen.

Out of the five words to choose from the one that I can relate to and seem to do a lot would be "DELAY". Many people did not choose this word to delete but I feel that most of society should delete this word. This word keeps us from achieving the highest of goals. We set aside things that are the most important in our lives. For example: the delay of school work, attendence at school, family time, GOD time, and the time to show someone that you care and you are there for them. You never know when someone or YOURSELF might leave this world. Thats why you should do the things that are important instead of delaying them, because you never know the things that are least important might come back to hunt you.
Think about: What if JESUS had delayed on dieing for our sins. Where would we be today????

~The word I would choose from the list above would be D-E-F-E-A-T. I chose this word because it is a thing i can not stand. You are never defeated, you are undefeatable do not let any one let you think you have been defeated. If you do not do good at something you are learning from your mistakes.

Out of the words doubt, discouragement, diverion, defeat, and delay. Delay would be the word i would delete. Just because it annoys me when people delay things, just because they think it'll save their butt, or not cause "drama". That stuff is a waste of people's time. Get out what you need to say and get over it. But it also reminds me about diversion, because if your delaying something it most likely means their trying to get you to put it in the back of your head or something. it just bugs me. :)

DISCOURAGEMENT would be my word to remove. Putting someone down is not my way of life so I see no use for that word. You can be discourage if you let people do that to you. The only person that is going discourage me is me and i'm not letting that happen.

With the words I am suppose to delete from my vocabulary, it would be defeat.I wouldn't use this word because I don't believe in it.You cannot get defeated if you have not even began to give up.Nobody can say you've been defeated their voice doesn't matter.Yours does when you even get close to saying "i give up" you've lost...DEFEATED

Discouragement is a word I think people should take out of their vocabulary. Whenever someone says something that discourages you, it brings down your hopes. I've heard many people say, "follow your dreams". What I don't understand is how your suppose to follow your dreams if people discourage you? If people would take out the word discouragement, alot more dreams would probably come true.

Out of the five D words I would delete the word “doubt”. The reason because is that we has teenagers use that word a lot, well I do for the most part, but yeah I do doubt my self a lot and I know it’s wrong, but that’s how I think I guess. One reason why I think it should be deleted from are daily vocabulary is that it’s a negative thought and no one should ever doubt there self, we were made in God’s image so there is no need for that. As my mom said once never doubt yourself because I know that you will do your best even if you do fail its ok we all make mistakes. And if we keep this way of thinking then we will be lonely and always doubt your self and not have any self confidence at all, also we will probably never get this thought our of your head. This is my opinion why I think doubt should be deleted from are vocabulary

Out of the five words to choose from, defeat would be the word to delete. whenever i hear the word defeat i feel like i didnt try hard enough or i did something wrong, but i know i tried my best and theres no way to show its to others because you have already failed. In my opinion if you try your hardest and dont give up you are sucessful.

I think Doubt because doubt is such a big word people use to get people down and I don't think that's right at all. It's just hurting people and making them feel bad and that's not right.

One of those words i'd choose to delete out of my everyday would be, Defeat. Because you should never accept defeat you should always try to do your best.
Before writing my blog I spent some time reading other peoples blogs. Everyone seems to favor doubt and discouragement. I can understand what alot of people are saying but truthfully those are some words that set us apart from each other. The word that I think should be removed is defeat.
I never encounter this word in my life because i never fail! So It's obviously just wasting space in the dictionary for words like awesome, epic, beautiful, and other words i would use to describe myself.

I think that the word discouragement should be deleted from the dictionary because nobody should have to ever feel that way ever. If it was really up to me, I would delete all of the negative words from the dictionary. Discourage means to deprive someone of their courage, hope or confidence so I feel if the word is not encouraging or uplifting someone, it’s not worth putting in the dictionary.

One word that i feel that should be deleted would be the would defeat. Defeat is such a strong word because it makes you feel like less of a person when someone tells you that you have been defeated! you haven't been defeated, you have just haven't won & you must learn from those mistakes. Defeat should never be used because it definitely damages someones self-esteem & sometimes even their self-respect!

If I could, I would delete "discouragement" from our daily vocabulary. It is completely true, that we should not discourage others. However, it is just as important not to discourage ourselves.
By discouraging ourselves, we're pretty much setting ourselves up to fail. That is such a foolish thing to do. We need to believe in ourselves, so that we can achieve our goals and do great things.

I think that discouragement should be removed because about two years ago everyone was discouraging me and its not right to do that to someone, even though it made me work even harder at gymnastics and i'm now at a higher level than the people that were discouraging me it still could hurt someone where they just want to give up and you shouldn't ruin someone's dreams by saying stuff and if you want to say something negative just keep it to yourself because you never know how emotionally weak someone could be
Doubt should be out of the vocabulary because you should never ever doubt your self you can do anything if you train and work hard enough when i went through cancer i doubt that i wouldnt make it but i got through it so never say doubt

The word "discouragemnet" should be erased from the dictionary. I have never heard this word in my life and I have heard all the other words plenty of times. This word can only be used negatively and the other words can be used in a positive way. We should never have or feel discouragement because it can bring down your sense of being and belonging. I HATE this word.
Sean Escott Nov, 5 2009 P.7
Out of the 5 words that we were given I would say that defeat should be deleted. One should never except defeat because once you do you give up on what you want. Which always comes back to haunt you later. Plus, its a negative word that people use to make it seem worse. I will never except defeat. You should always keep on trying no matter what!
"Doubt" I think the word doubt should be deleted from everyones vocabulary because it is not a very good word that people should use in there vocabulary. i mean i also think it should be deleted because sometime i doubt myself alot about stuff and you should never doubt yourself u should always try new stuff and never doubt yourself that u cant do it. so that is why i choose the word doubt.

"Defeat"!!! I think defeat has to be one of the worst words that a person can use because if you accept defeat then you cant accomplish anyhting in life. Everyone always says never give up on anything and dats da troof!! The only way i think that someone could accept defeat is if you gave it 110 percent and didnt give up until the end. That just means that they were truly better than you.

I think that the word doubt should be deleted. Mainly cause of ots meaning and also cause of its constant use. Now days we use it like we use the word the, we're constantly doubting options and others opinions. Maybe we should try hoping and looking at our situations in a more positive light.

Discouragement. Boy, do I hate that word! Why, you may ask? Because I know it to well. All the time are people picking on me, trying to discourage me. Their attempts are futile, but they still try. I can't tell you how many times other students have said "Nobody likes you!" Now, I know for a fact that this is not true, but they still say it. And when I say people like me, they reply by saying "Yeah, other gays!" But you know what, let them say it. I don't like it, but at least I know the truth!
well if I had to choose a word I would choose DOUBT. I would choose doubt because I believe in the saying " Dont judge a book by its cover" and i know theres alot of people who see a person and (DOUBT) them and I honestly dont think thats right and I dont think anybody should doubt anyone....because you never know who or what that person is about and I absoluetly dislike when people talk about people they dont know.

Defeat
No one is ever really defeated until they decease. Defeat is never an end to a goal it is carried on as a learning experience. People can keep trying and Move closer and closer to their desires. Being defeated can be looked upon as discouraging or persuade someone to give up. Dont let yourself be defeated keep trying and Win!

I think the word "DOUBT" should be deleted because all of the other words are just results of doubt. When you doubt, discouragement starts to set in your mind because you doubt yourself of being successful. Discouragement leads to diversion because if you feel that you can’t do something you’re not and that’s because some people are afraid of failure. Diversion leads to delay because when you turn away from something, you’re not going to get the job done. So when it comes down to it you have basically been defeated by “DOUBT”.
I think that discouragement should be deleted because in my life I have been discouraged alot and it is a bad feeling.
I think the word doubt should be deleted out of my vocabulary because the word doubt causes so much delays in other peoples life. Think of it this way if we didnt have to word doubt in our vocabulary people would accoplish so many things in life without any regret and so much more would get done. So to me if we didnt have that word in our vocabulary to me it would make me life a whole lot better and alot less stressful.
